Larana
Larana was once the noble drow sister of Volundeil who displeased her mother, and was sentenced to be fleshwarped into a drider. Pharnox fleshwarped Larana, but because of his attitudes he altered the fleshwarping so that Larana was not the evil predator most driders become. Larana remembered some of her past as a drow, and retained some of her abilities as a cleric. She was left out in the darklands there she spent much time in the dark, and silence. Filled with grief at her new state she ate little, and waited for death to take her. One day as she was weak with hunger she saw a sight that awakened, and motivated her. In the silent dark a black butterfly flew in the cavern she was in. Her eyes focused on the butterfly as it approached her. Larana remained still and silent as it landed right on her nose. As the butterfly touched her she experienced a vision, of the stars, and of the exploration of hidden places. There she had the first communication with the Empyreal Lord known as Black Butterfly.
She regained her strength, and stealth-fully made her way back to the drow city that was once her home. Making contact with both her helf-brother and her half-sister she started to talk to them about escaping from the darklands and going somewhere where they wouldn’t have to worry about drow society.
